Following the success of his first CD dedicated to Silvius Leopold Weiss (editions Seulétoile, 2020), Diego Salamanca has chosen to record pieces by Jean-Sébastien Bach for this second solo opus.

Unlike the works by Weiss which were composed specifically for the lute, the libretto of this record, written by Diego Salamanca himself, tells us that Bach’s pieces were attributed to the lute, without any certainty that they were composed for this instrument.

The interpretation of these pieces therefore requires a particular work for the instrumentalist who is confronted with the need to push his instrument to thebeyond the usual, to explore new resources to produce a sound image that represents the monumental architecture of these works.

J.S. Bach on the lute represents a mature work for Diego Salamanca, who accompanies this recording with an original series of photographs.
