Baroques barrels was born from a desire of Alice Julien-Laferrière to revisit the repertoire of drinking arias and cantatas of the 17th and 18th centuries, to give them a new relevance. A stage and record project that resonates with the location of Ensemble Artifices, in the Maranges valley in Burgundy, land of wines par excellence.

Bacchus, god of wine, theatre and illusions, but also protector of trees, spirit of the bark, vital sucs and spring renewal, celebrates the pleasure of wine, while Venus opposes the intoxication of love.

This recording is from a show whose musical ambition is to promote the listening of recognized composers (Louis-Nicolas Clérambault, François Couperin, Marin Marais, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier), and other unknown as Bernard Burette, author of Bacchus, a cantata never recorded to this day. Presentation of the show.

The «musical bottles» are an original idea of the Ensemble Artifices and Editions Seulétoile to innovate in the diffusion of recorded music and communication around wine.
